World record holders Jonathan Edwards and Sergey Bubka are latest Athletics for a Better World donors

Great Britain’s Jonathan Edwards and the Ukraine’s Sergey Bubka, respectively the current World record holders at Triple Jump and Pole Vault have joined the list of all-time great athletes who have handed donations to the IAAF for its humanitarian project Athletics for a Better World.
A six-time World champion and former Olympic champion Bubka donated his Athens Olympic torch relay polo shirt as well as competitions spikes which he used in his last year as an active athlete.
The multiple record breaker Bubka has been elected to the IAAF Council since his retirement and is also a member of the IOC Athletes’ Commission. Within the Olympic movement Bubka is also a member of the IOC Executive Board.
Bubka is also the meeting director of the Pole Vault international meeting of Donetsk at which Yelena Isinbayeva has set World records in the last two editions.
All donations will be auctioned at the end of the year and all profits donated to the United Nations Associations: FAO, UNICEF and WFP.
