Track and Field Presents Two Youth Clinics
Chippewa clinics will be offered on two Sundays in January.

Dec. 2, 2005

MOUNT PLEASANT - Youth track and field athletes will get the chance to learn from some of the best as Central Michigan University offers two different Sunday clinics for kindergarten through 12th grade students in the CMU Indoor Athletic Complex.

The Youth Track and Field Clinic for kindergarten through sixth grade is set for Sunday, January 15, 2006, from 1 to 4 p.m. Check-in time is between 12:30 and 1 p.m. Student-athletes get the opportunity for this one-of-a-kind experience for small group instruction in the following areas: proper warm-up, starting techniques, sprints, hurdles, long jump, shot put and relays. This one-time clinic costs $20.

The Middle and High School Track and Field Clinic for seventh through 12th grade is offered on Sunday, January 29, 2006, from noon to 4 p.m. Students should check-in between 11:30 a.m. and noon. This advanced clinic is for the serious track and field athlete and is a great way for participants to prepare for their indoor or outdoor season. Individual instructions include plyometrics, medicine ball training, and conditioning. Athletes also get expert instruction in the following concentrations: sprints, hurdles, mid-distance, long distance, long jump, high jump, pole vault and throws. This specialized clinic is offered to students at $35.
