Pole POLL

Unread postby Bruce Caldwell » Mon Apr 21, 2003 7:45 pm

OK that is more like it

I know that UCS and PACER HAVE THE MOST POLES OUT THERE. :star:
We have only a little over 2000 poles out here so far so the numbers will be small.
My vote is there for ESSX :rose: and others who use and praise them.
So PVpower members vote now!
LOL ;)

I may be a little wussy high school boy who cant jump worht a crap because of a bad coach and no drills but my 2 cents....

Id say for newbies go with Spriits or Skypoles.. definat must.. I can pick one of those up and jump 11'6 or 12' the SECOND time on a run though (assuming 13') Thats not bad for second attempt but....

Ive gotten a ESSX pole.. not gotten enough practice to master it.. and let me tell you they ARE A BEAST.. but once you go for the 'flam'n stick' with the COOL red tip you wont go back.

If you know jack about physics.. jump on a soft slow pole like the majority do.. then jump on a same length ESSX... you can FEEL the thrust. With a little techniqu at the top I promise a PR or your money back (that is the money you gave to me not Mr. Essx there)

TRUST ME.. if you dont go with essx at least find a pole thats harder then a boiled carrot to bend.. the Essx has my vote and I picked it due to its high bend hight... you'll be suprised at how high your feet will clear even before you get out of the inverted C.

I know almost jack about physics and poles  - but there must be a whole lot of 18 and 19' vaulters that don't since I have seen a whole lot of Spirits used at that level :o - not to mention Pacer's :) - Are you implying that all flex numbers are not created equal - no jack - I think there has been plenty said on these boards about that - as far as the target market for a certain pole family and design - that is a manufacturer decision - there is a reason the Skypoles roll over easier for the same flex - Have not jumped on Essex so can not talk about them - Have coached kids that have jumped on Spirit, Skypole, Pacer - have jumped on them as well - And there is a carbon pole that the top rank guys are currently using - Use what works for you- vault safe and hopefully high

Thank you for the honorable mention of our pole in your comments.
However there is no SEX in the name

ESSEX corrected ESSX
As far as the Brandoaz comments, he has had some good luck with ESSX going from 12' to 14' and we understand his excitement. His major focus is physics so he is into this stuff, asking us some great questions about engineering.
He also has over bent his current size pole and is waiting for our new pole to ship today
.

We really want to promote Pole-vaulting on this site and not our poles we do appreciate his comments and support as well as your comments, are worth noting

SEX on the mind - not as much as - never mind - sorry about the mis-spelling - must have been the boiled carrot and soft pole comment - but education and information is something this section of the board is devoted to - general statements (especially if they are not factual) do not improve the understanding - since the Essx pole he had seems to be working well - as I said before - "Use what works well for you" - the comment about newbies using Spirits - (gee am I pluggin the wrong pole here) was addressed - calling it like I see it
