Vault for a cure...Multiple Sclerosis..Toby's meet

Unread postby mistervault » Wed Mar 15, 2006 8:04 pm

Hey everyone.

I am putting on a pole vault competition/exhibition in my home town of Odessa, TX. It is going to be inside our mall on the ice rink.
It is a benefit to raise money and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis.

Heres who is jumping.....
Tim Mack---Olympic gold and record holder (of course)
Nick Hysong---Olympic gold, Sydney (of course)
Jeff Hartwig---american record holder and 1996 olympian (of course)
Myself

I will also have a few local kids jump. It is going to be a great day of loud music, pole vaulting and fun. I have talked to these guys and they are doing a great thing by helping out with this. I respect all of them tremendously. we have door prizes and gifts to give away and its going to be a blast to perform for my home town crowd

im attaching a flyer for the event and the number to call to get more information or donate to the cause.

the number is 1-888-999-7992.

I ask as a favor from everyone.....just spread the word about the event. even if we cant raise money, we can raise awareness for MS and the pole vault. if you have any questions about the event...email me at toby@tobystevenson.com

thanks everyone

Toby

Odessa Permian graduate and Olympic pole vaulter Toby Stevenson will be part of a pole vaulting exhibition today at Music City Mall in Odessa to raise awareness for Multiple Sclerosis.

Stevenson, who won a silver medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, will be joined by Olympic gold medalist Tim Mack, 2004 gold medalist Nick Hysong and 1996 Olympian Jeff Hartwig.

The event will be held on the Music City Mall Ice Rink, with Stevenson attempting to touch the ceiling of the rink during the exhibition. Stevenson will vault in his hometown for the first time since 1995.

I am so bummed they didn't put the picture of Jeff Hartwig kicking the ceiling in the online edition! It was a really cool picture.

Professional pole vaulters compete for themselves as a means of existence, with individual performances ultimately determining the success of their careers.
In spite of that, the athletes still maintain a level of camaraderie that’s second to none â€â€
