UCS/SPIRIT or ESSX for new poles

Unread postby scsuvaulter » Tue Apr 04, 2006 3:24 am

I recently purchased a new line of pacerfx pole and want to change because I don't feel as if I am getting what I need out of the pole. I had used pacer carbonfx poles before the change and had good results. I did think that the pole uncoiled to fast. I have used UCS/SPIRIT poles before (only a couple in high school) and they seemed to work really well. I have also used a couple ESSX poles (in high school) and they seemed to work well. Being about the same price I think it is a tough decision because I know that ESSX has a good reputation and so does UCS/SPIRIT. It is obvious that the world's best vaulters have used UCS/SPIRIT and that the best USA female vaulters use ESSX.

Any help? :o

What do you use and why?

I was also wonder... I see a lot of different logo stickers on ESSX poles why is this... what stickers are on what poles? :dazed:

Thanks,

SCSUVAULTER :)

I would get UCS Spirtit personally if you don't like carbons. Those are the only two kinds of poles i use. I would choose on of our carbons anyday but UCS is good too. I've never used ESSX but I don't plan on it if I don't have too. I don't really think anyone uses them over here where I vault.
This year your gonna have to work twice as hard.

Because the Women were not afraid to try new things the Best Womens vaulters as well as TYe Harvey found out first that the ESSX poles worked the best.
Just recently two new Mens vaulters have discovered ESSX also by jumping in college 18' to win many meets. One from Mich State and the other from McNeese College two great vaulting programs and coaches. More men are trying the new ESSX poles and finding them to be differrent than any pole they have ever jumped on.

The label changes every 1,000 poles we make a similar but slightly changed label of the flames as we move past each 1,000 sold.
Most like the latest flame label so we will repeat it for the next 1,000.
Thanks for noticing.

I might suggest you fill in the sizes you need and not replace sizes as a full range is alway the best way to go no matter the brand.
I remember once going to a pole barn and seeing 145 150 and 155 pole 3 each in brown, 3 each in blue, 3 each in white 3 each in yellow 3 each in red and 3 each in black the vaulter needed a 160 so trading poles to get you and another school a full line is the best goal.

i was looking at my mf athletic catalog and it said that the new line of ESSX poles dont have any flex numbers. is that true? and i have noticed that the coloring of the flames differs. Carlsbad high now has a lot of vaulters and a lot of their vaulters are still using the wonderful line of ESSX poles. I havent fully vaulted on a UCS/Spirit pole (using the pole to its fullest capability) but i still like them. but everyone AND their moms have spirit poles. i like to be a little different.

Oh yeah Bruce, do you know my coach, Tim Dowling? He used to coach for carlsbad high for about 5 years and said you were really a big part of their program. Just wondering

hello yes I know tim and they have a good program there.
ESSX poles do have a manufactuers flex number but the model number is so finite that you can use it in its 2.2 lbs sizes to move from one size to another better than with flex numbers.
