Let me know where you plan to go. I would like to get my athlete in with the same girls that were in the #1 group at Reno.

Hey,
This is Katie V. I wanted to help you out you seem to be stuggling with responses, so I am going to both of them, if you wanted to send her to a meet with great athletes but she isn't quite at the point were she is on the list of those to compete at the USA Juniors meet or how that works exactly then go to Nike, it's a great meet and a great experience, plus North Carolina is amazing. I don't know what the meet in INDY is going to be like, the track is nice and it's fast. There both good meets, I know some of the girls that were in the #1 group at reno want to be at both but I don't know if they are all going to make it to Nike but it seems like most of them would go to INDY, just because of the value that the meet has. So, I hope this helped a little, if you have any other questions or anything send me a PM, what has your athlete jumped so far this year???

Hey Katie, Thanks for the response. My vaulter is Alicia Rue. She was in The #1 group at Reno with you. She got 3rd I think with 12-4. She was the tall skinny one with carbon MsStic's. It was a great pleasure to be there and see you jump 14! I talked to one of your coaches and you all seem to be excellent people. She as gone 13-3 indoors and 13-1.5(4m) outdoors so she has made the standard for both. Right now I am leaning heavily toward the USATF meet because it is easier to fly into and will be a better overall experience being at the same venue and weekend as the Elite Nationals. I am glad you will be there so I know she will have someone to jump with.

Nike Outdoor is the weekend before USA JRs. USA JRs has a qualifying mark of 12-9.5 to get in, and you will compete against anyone else 19 and under. College freshmen compete with you. Nike Outdoor carries a qualifying standard of 12-0 and it is a meet only for high schoolers. Nike makes sure the top high school athletes are in attendance.
The athletes who have registered for Nike Outdoors:
Rachel Laurent
Kate Veith
Brittany Parker
Tori Penna
Top 6 places get a pair of shoes and a medal for winning, and all participating athletes also receive an athletic bag from Nike. Its really a meet that focuses on the high schoolers and is well run. Nike's top finisher in each event this year will be placed on an international team to compete in Puerto Rico this July.
Many athletes are doing both.
USATF is just a different animal. The juniors will compete at the same facility as the seniors, but at different times. They usually clear out the stadium inbetween the "intermission" between the junior and senior competitions and make everyone pay again to get in. The beauty about USATF Juniors is that the top two are placed on a USA team that will travel to Junior Worlds in Beijing and given USA team gear.

Tori Peña will not be going to Nike Outdoors.
oops!
Stokke is going to Nike, not Pena. Sorry about that!
Also, due to budget constraints, the team for Puerto Rico will be selected in advance of the meet based on the year's performances. Athletes who do not attend Nike will not be in the selection pool.
Either way both meets should be great.
