vaulting camps for the summer?

A forum to discuss overall training techniques, nutrition, injuries, etc. Discussion of actual pole vault technique should go in the Technique forum.

vaulting camps for the summer?

Unread postby climbingmandan » Mon May 29, 2006 5:58 pm

Anyone know any sweet summer vaulting camps? I live on the East coast but am willing to make the trek West if I have to.

Thanks,
climbingmandan

Patriot Pole Vault Camp. Great camp run by VaultnGus. Pretty much 6 days a week the whole summer. Good coaching, got a TiVo so you can see your vaults. Costs about 200 for the whole summer i think, but it's cool cuz basically all of it goes to buying poles.

Yea guys ive gone to Cornell Track Camp.... the past 2 years they have gotten a ton of the cornell athletes and local head coaches to help you out. I got a ton out of it, and i learned a lot about running as well. The first couple sessions are all about running and being more efficient, and it made me a ton fast the next year! Something to check out. Or Slippery Rock PA has a very intense, good camp i hear. Then theres Vertical assault, of course. All within a 3 or 4 hour trek from NY.
The greater the challenge, the more glorious the triumph

Could you maybe describe a little more about this camp, like how it helped you etc. That was actually one of the camps I found on my own and was pretty excited about it.
