How far away is this place from Chicago?

Well, Chicago is a big city, so it would depend on where in Chicago. Mapquest it from your zip code to 63301.

St. Charles is just west of St. Louis. The River Vault will be about a mile off I-70 on the downtown St. Charles riverfront.

Thats some distance to travel, I am above Chicago near Wis border. Im trying to find all my options for this summer besides training.

Might look up North Central College in Naperville -- they hold a "Vaultfest" at the college during Naperville's "rib fest celebration" during the summer. Talk to Tim Winder of Justin Tabour they will show you a good time. Also look up Sterling Park department in Sterling Il. Their parks department also holds summer and winter track meets open to all athletes.

The meet is July 3rd last I heard. It is definitely still going on.

We (Brian and Dad) ran into Mark at the Hot Springs Street vault - He says it looks like it will be on the 6th - he said there will be fireworks after the vault in the evening. The only real question is what set of mats will we be vaulting on - I guess Mark is still working out the details. We had a great time last year and expect another good tome this year. Saw that Andre Pickens (?) at the street vault in Hot Springs - she snapped a pole right off the bat and jumped right back up and got on another. Looks liked she could be a really strong vaulter.
