Transferred to Cal Poly. Jumped 12' in 2005 and did not jump last year.

HS Pole Vaulters

Unread postby baggettpv » Sun Oct 29, 2006 10:46 pm

To all,
Being a coach for the last 25 years I have been looking at HS bests for awhile. If you have access go back to 1985 HS bests. Look at the top 20 for each year then plot the number that made it to the NCAA champs later. Then plot the number that made it to the USATF Nationals later. What I discovered is that there are conditions that enable people to make those kinds of improvements. Few factors have to do with their HS Performances.

I guess your pupil, Mr. Skipper, skewed those stats :)

Rick,

Your posts are so damn vague they drive me insane!!!

BUT, they are genius and make you think

Please, if you don't mind, discuss some of these conditions that enable people to make those kinds of improvements. :rose:
