can't stand it... the mats we have at school have a lot and it gets in my eyes whenever i land.

SIU-Edwardsville has the most pit dust I have ever seen. When I get bored I just jump on their front buns and laugh at the cloud of dust that comes out.

MY NUMBER ONE PET PEEVE IS HAVING LESS TIME TO VAULT THAN THE FRESHMAN WHO HAS AN OFFICIAL MEET PR OF 4' 6" AND ALL OF THE OTHER PEOPLE WHO JUST DONT CARE OR WHO SUCK
THAT AND THE FACT THAT MY COACH LIVES 16 HOURS AWAY SO BASICALLY I HAVE NO COACH
VAULTERS ARE A CRAZY CREW BUT ITS A FUN RIDE!

mat dust may be annoying but landing on a family of mice...now that was just plain ol' fun.

We used to have to take the mats in and out every day for practice in HS....leaving them out with a weather cover on it will be a welcome change in college O:-)

last year at a meet at SIUE we moved the pits so we'd have a tailwind....

yeah....there was definatly a rat nest in it and a the remains of a snake....and not to mention the 2 feet of standing water in the bottom of the pads...

worst pit ever.

Becca, We had a USATF meet this summer ar SIUE and they STILL had those junk DUSTY pits. They had left the top cover completely off and the top pad was in such bad shape we had to wire tie it on the mats to keep it in place. Did hear that they are hosting a big meet in 2008 (nationals ???) and are SUPPOSE to get new pits this year.

Yeah they are hosting NAIAs this year and next year. I sure hope they get new pits by then!
