"soft side"

Unread postby ACvault » Tue Jan 30, 2007 7:52 pm

just a quick question....how do you determine the "soft side" of the pole, as in how should you hold the pole for planting. just asking b/c i got a new pacer 13'1 145 for outdoor and i wanted to check.

The pacer logo should be facing the ski when you plant. This is backwards from the UCS logos.

hold the top of the pole in your opened palm, and let the pole role untill it sits. The bottom side is the soft side. The top of the pole when it is in your palm should be facing you during your plant.

ok i decided to reopen this topic because i am going onto using a ucs pole over the summer, so with the UCS pole do you plant with the words "UCS" facing towards you or facing away from you. because all the other poles i have, have the labels on the outside of the prebend, but on the UCS it is on the inside of the prebend

UCS is opposite of Pacer. The label should face you at plant on Spirits.

I don't like to use labels. Instead, look at the natural bow of the pole. The side that bows out is the side that should face the pit when you plant.

Yeah if you bend against the pre-bend it doesn't really work as well.
