Just wondering if anyone else is planning on doing it this year? I'm gonna be in the Western region try-outs at Brockport University. Hopefully I'll make it!

Im thinking of coming out of retirement and seeing what I still have for the meet. Either way ill be out at the Western trials. Best of luck to you, and I will see you there.

Haha the funny thing is I've been trying to reach you guys at suhr sports to try and get private lessons or go to your camp this summer. My coach that vaults at clemson(Mike Feathers) went to you guys and he says it's the next step i need to take to get better because at my school(Grand Island High School) we don't have a pole vault coach...Hope I see you there!

It always depends on who is trying out. Right now, Section 5 has about 10 scholastic vaulters capable of jumping 12-6. Section 6 has around 6, so it could be a good competition. Only top 2 go. If Ryan Pericozzi from Lancaster comes out (14-6) PR, he's the fav.
As far as the open, it'll take 15' maybe higher to qualify because there's a stacked class of graduating seniors moving up, as well as some returning college kids and of course, some veterans, but not quite masters coming out of retirement, haha--go Fritz (previous Empire State Games champ a few years ago).
Should be a great time, see you at Brockport.
