i used a "girls" pole when i was smaller and it didn't make a differnece.

But when i bent the pole (which wan't much back then) it seemed like it bent back really quickly and it sometimes flung be around, which sacred my coach.

I always thought the only difference was that they make the "girls" poles in smaller sizes and that they're thinner? For smaller hands? That's what I was always told. I've used mystics before and so do 2 of the guys on my team. I could never tell any difference.

Mystics used to be on smaller mandrels, but I know in the 12'6 and shorter lengths they now go with a little bit bigger mandrel (these are still small poles, like an 18 mandrel instead of a 21) to make the carry weight lighter, so now they probably have a similar mandrel size to their Skypole and Spirit counterparts.

I think a lower sail piece should work best for most girls. They certainly worked best for me, and I think it had something to do with my being so much shorter and lighter than the other athletes.
