okay, how many of you vault left, how many right, and how many can do both for fun?

There are no left-handers - only right-handers and wrong-handers ;)

seriously though it doesn't matter how you look at them live or on video left-handed vaulters just don't look "right". I don't understand why - left handed pitchers and hitters look perfectly natural during baseball telecasts. Even left-handed golfers look alright. There's just something odd about left-handed vaulters. Of course that means that I have about 6 different lefties that I'm trying to coach right now. Serves me right for whining eh?

Right handed pr: 4.60m
Left handed pr: 3.00m (straight-poled)

Other talents: I can also switch hit in baseball and golf, but even as a righty, have twice as much power or bat/club-speed hitting lefty.

And yes Gus, all lefties are "wrong-handed!" I also have coached and do coach several of them, and they all look wrong! Many of them seem to run with their torso turned to the left, yet righties don't run with their torso's turned right?!? Seems to create an unbalanced stride in their approach.

For coaches: if you ever get frustrated with beginners not planting correctly, not being aggressive enough, or just learning very slowly, try teaching yourself to do whatever you're trying to teach them to do, with the opposite hand. You'll feel just like a beginner and get some valuable insight into their learning curve!

some guy that goes to roosevelt does that too, he's really funny to watch at practice because he jumps of the wrong foot sometimes.

tee-hee, last year our best guy and best girl vaulter were both left handed, so the guys would have staight pole competions where brandon would vault right handed and everyone else would vault left handed, it was actually quite amusing, becuase their body would be use to turnig one way and they'd try to go another.
