Way to go Tye and Scott! Scott you probably will have the highest jump in the country, in the state meet, that did not win. Hope to see you guys at some meets this summer.

That was such a classic showdown between two great vaulters and people, Tye and Scott (aka "the Duck") took it to the wire in that comp. Two good'ns there.
compete and jump safe, have fun

I'll tell ya what, if that Duck hadn't of changed poles at 16'6, he probably would've jumped 17'0 - just got a little overambitious, but he's got enough gas in the tank for it!

Yeah, Lonestar is right, I did have a struggle in changing poles and i set the standards further foward that I should have, I didnt think i was going to get in to like i did the 2nd attmept altohugh i didnt finish it, and the 3rd attempt was good but I drifted to the side. I had cleared 16'6 on the pole I used at 16' but I thought I could make it easy if i went up...it happens so the next time i go to a meet I will use that bigger pole again and I will get a better height hopefully.

Anyways, Here are some jumps from the state meet. www.polevaultworld.com

Britni lawrence broke her state record twice at 12-6 and 12-9.

yeah they are the same, and usually the different classifications or A's are based on school size. It might be different in texas though- anyone know for sure?

Ryan Shuler or Scott Roth from Granite Bay might have something to say about that ;)

You'll love Hughs Stadium. It's my favorite place to jump. Monster tails, fast narrow runway, rounded box........and not to mention the energy of the 10,000+ at the california state meet. I PR'd 11" there my junior year to take second. Wish I could be there to see it
