and for anyone else who might run into this problem- to feel better after, o let's call it, prolonged socializing, it's been scientifically proven to help if you:
1. eat burnt toast- the carbon acts as a spongey filter and gets rid of any remaining toxins in your body.
2. eat eggs- they have cysteine which helps break up more toxins in your liver.
3. drink sports drinks- if you can't get one, water's fine, but these have electrolytes that were probably depleted since alcohol is a diuretic.
4. eat a banana and drink fruit juice- replace everything you washed out the night before, namely potassium and fructose.
i just took a test on the how your body uses ethanol, which is what makes us drunk... it takes 4 hours just for the ethanol in one beer to leave our body completely and it takes 9 hours for 3 beers... it goes on like that on a pretty accurate scale... there is nothing you can eat, drink, or do to increase the rate of reaction inside the cells of you body!!!!! the effects of alcohol may be gone, but the alcohol is still there... that's why the next day, you sweat and it smells like yeast.... because that's where ethanol comes from... the fructose in bananas and sports drinks cause a huge spike in blood sugar and may cause you to bonk towards the end of tough practice.
my advice is just to not eat, you'll probably puke it up anyways, or not do it, especially before you jump... i've done it before i've done speed endurance workouts and had the best pracitce times of the year, but i puked hard afterwards... i've never jumped the night after though, someday.....
