I dunno, read all the articles I posted that were in the Aussie press today. I can't remember the last time a single event at a US track meet got that much coverage.

I dunno, read all the articles I posted that were in the Aussie press today. I can't remember the last time a single event at a US track meet got that much coverage.
Believe me, I'm not suggesting track is big in the US. I'm just surprised how sparse things looked in that video. I understand that the Vault often runs late after everything else is packed up. But still, there was about 3 people jogging in the background of a 19+ vault and a field of at least 3 19 foot Vaulters!

Actually this has been discussed before, because Burgess jumped 6 meters in a meet like that. I think that most of the fans sit on the side that was being filmed from. I want to say it is in the shade or something (it's summer down there).

jcoov, I thought the same thing. I thought his swing looked much longer with little tucking. He looked a little slow, probably because of the injury. But, what a great looking jump. His takeoff was awesome. Hope he gets healthy. It will be exciting to see what he can do when he does.
